Classroom Facilitator

A Classroom Facilitator plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to students in a classroom setting. Their primary responsibilities include helping students with tasks like carrying books, setting up equipment, and creating a conducive learning environment. This role aims to ensure that students can focus on their studies and classroom activities without disruptions.  This is a part-time contract role, $20/hr. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up the classroom before the start of each class, ensuring that all necessary materials and equipment are in place.
• Arrange desks, chairs, and other furniture to facilitate an organized and conducive learning environment.
• Help students carry their books, notebooks, and other study materials to and from the classroom.
• Assist in setting up and troubleshooting audio-visual equipment, computers, or any other technical devices required for the class.
• Offer support to students with mobility challenges, ensuring they have a safe and comfortable path to their seats.
• Assist students with physical disabilities in accessing the classroom and their designated seating.
• Maintain awareness of safety protocols and emergency procedures, being prepared to assist students in the event of an evacuation or other safety measures.
• Help maintain a secure and controlled environment within the classroom.
• Communicate any issues or concerns related to classroom setup and student needs.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. Further education or certification related to education support is a plus.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support students in their learning journey.
• Knowledge of basic technical equipment and the ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues is a plus.
