Job Description

Location: Ottawa, Ontario. Hybrid, up to 3 days on-site, 2 days remote
Language: Bilingualism required, advanced written and spoken English and French
Duration: 12-month temporary assignment, full-time, 37.5 hours per week, overtime as required

About the Opportunity

Our client, a respected Crown Corporation within Canada’s cultural and public sector landscape, is seeking a People, Culture and Belonging Advisor to support a dynamic and purpose-driven HR team. Reporting to the Director of People, Culture and Belonging, you will play a key role in shaping inclusive people practices that directly impact employee experience across the organization.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll support full-cycle recruitment and selection processes through an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens.
  • In this role, you’ll advise on labour relations matters, including grievance hearings, negotiations, and conflict resolution.
  • You’ll provide guidance on accommodation, workforce adjustment, and employment equity initiatives.
  • You’ll collaborate with leaders to develop and refine HR processes and talent management practices.
  • You’ll ensure compliance with federally legislated employment standards and related legislation.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience in a unionized environment.
  • Post-secondary education in industrial relations, human resources, or administration, CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, grievance hearings, negotiations, accommodation, and HR process development.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, preferably ADP, HRIS platforms, and MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge of federally regulated legislation including the Canada Labour Code, Human Rights Act, Employment Equity Act, and Accessibility Act.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • Advanced bilingual communication skills in English and French, written and spoken.
