This is an opportunity to lead procurement and sourcing initiatives within a dynamic 3PL transportation environment. You will join a fast-paced, growing team where your decisions directly impact operational efficiency, vendor performance, and cost management.
Working closely with operations, carrier management, and internal stakeholders, you will manage transportation vendor relationships, lead RFPs, analyze costs, and help rationalize and consolidate vendor spend. Your work will support business objectives, ensure compliance with contracts, and enable the team to operate efficiently while meeting service expectations.
What’s in it for You
You will be part of a collaborative, high-performing environment that values initiative, independence, and practical problem-solving.
You will gain exposure to end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing strategy, carrier engagement, contract negotiation, and vendor performance management.
You will have the potential for contract extension or conversion to permanent employment, with opportunities to expand your influence across procurement and transportation operations.
Your Responsibilities
- You will lead sourcing initiatives for transportation vendors and commodities, including planning, executing, and evaluating RFPs.
- You will manage carrier engagement and collaborate with operations to ensure contracts are executed, monitored, and aligned with service expectations.
- You will analyze vendor performance, identify opportunities for cost savings, and implement process improvements.
- You will maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and provide timely procurement guidance and reporting.
- You will manage multiple procurement projects independently, demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
- You will document processes, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- You will assist in contract negotiations, rate reviews, and vendor selection for domestic and international sourcing projects.
- You will support ad hoc procurement tasks, data analysis, and Excel-based rate comparisons to inform operational decisions.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3–5 years of procurement, sourcing, or transportation experience, ideally in a 3PL or logistics environment.
- Experience leading RFPs, vendor negotiations, and managing procurement projects of operational significance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with SAP or Dynamics is an asset.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work professionally with internal teams and vendors.
- Post-secondary education in business, logistics, supply chain, or related discipline preferred.
- Demonstrated initiative, judgment, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Note from the Hiring Manager
