Location: Toronto, ON – Hybrid (2 days on-site, 3 days remote)
Duration: 12-month contract with a possible extension

About the Opportunity

Our client in the nuclear and manufacturing sectors is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, innovative architecture solutions. You will play a key role in shaping technology strategies, driving modernization initiatives, and ensuring that projects align with business objectives and best practices.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing leadership, mentorship, and technical expertise to deliver robust solutions. You will help transition legacy systems to modern architectures, optimize operational efficiency with SCADA and Pi solutions, and leverage Microsoft Azure to design cloud-based, data-driven platforms.

Your Responsibilities

  • Architect and design APIs for seamless data integration across platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Leverage Microsoft Azure to architect scalable, reliable cloud solutions.
  • Design and implement Operation Technologies (OT) to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Provide leadership in adopting architecture and design patterns such as microservices and MVC.
  • You will architect scalable, reliable cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure.
  • You will develop and manage APIs for seamless data integration across platforms.
  • You will implement DevOps practices, transitioning monolithic applications to service-based, containerized architectures.
  • You will lead the implementation of SCADA and Pi systems to optimize operational efficiency.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in solution design and architecture, including prior experience as a Solution Architect.
  • Experience in nuclear / manufacturing / energy industries, working with Operation Technologies (OT) is a must
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure, integration platforms, API management, DevOps, SCADA, and Pi solutions.
  • Proficiency in architecture and design patterns including microservices and MVC.
  • Experience transitioning from monolithic to service-based architectures, containerization, and API development.
  • Skilled with Angular, React, .NET, SQL, and legacy system modernization (Visual Basic 6, Centura, Gupta).
  • Strong background in data platform development, Business Intelligence, and Artificial Intelligence integration.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, SAP, CCSP) are highly desirable.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
