Job Title: Senior OHS Consultant
Location: Mississauga, on site, travel required 
Job Type: Permanent
Language: English required, French is an asset. Strong written and verbal communication skills
Hours: Monday to Friday: Flexible, 37.5 hours/week
Background Check Requirement: Successful completion of a criminal background check is required

In this role, you will join a collaborative Occupational Health and Safety team within a large, multifaceted organization spanning retail, logistics, and corporate environments. You will be at the forefront of building a culture where safety is not just a policy, but a shared commitment.

You will work closely with operational leaders, front-line teams, and Joint Health and Safety Committees to identify risks, educate teams, and continuously strengthen safety practices. Your impact will be felt across multiple sites as you help ensure people feel supported, protected, and empowered to do their best work every day.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments across retail, distribution, and campus locations.
  • In this role, you’ll lead incident investigations and root cause analysis to prevent future incidents.
  • You’ll partner with business leaders to enhance safety programs and influence positive safety behaviors.
  • You’ll monitor compliance with provincial legislation and ensure organizational alignment with regulations.
  • You’ll analyze safety data and prepare accurate reports to support decision-making.
  • You’ll act as an advisor to Joint Health and Safety Committees and provide on-call support as part of a rotating schedule.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Occupational Health and Safety within retail or distribution environments
  • CRSP designation required
  • Strong knowledge of provincial health and safety legislation
  • Experience working directly with regulatory bodies
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and educate leaders
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
