Senior Database Developer
Location: Downtown Toronto
Salary: $95,000–$115,000 per year
We are assisting our non-profit/government administration client in finding a skilled Senior Database Developer to design, maintain, and optimize their relational databases supporting critical operational and certification processes.
Key Details:
- Work Schedule: 7 hours per day, full-time.
- On-Site Requirement: 4 days/week during the first 2–3 months of training, then 2 days/week thereafter.
- Travel Bonus: Eligible for travel-related bonus.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain relational database systems, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into database solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior database developers, promoting best practices and high-quality standards.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and provide user training as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly, including root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 6–8 years of IT experience, including development/programming and database administration.
- Previous experience in a senior, leadership, or mentorship role is preferred.
- SQL certification and strong experience administering SQL relational databases is a bonus
- Proficiency in MS Access and familiarity with Windows environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-stakes, detail-oriented environment.
