Infrastructure Solutions Architect
One of our clients is seeking two experienced Solution Architects to support enterprise infrastructure planning and delivery. The successful candidates will provide solution architecture expertise across servers, storage, networking, and data center technologies.
This role involves designing, documenting, and advising on infrastructure solutions that align with business requirements, industry best practices, and enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver Detailed Solution Designs, ensuring robust system integration, secure data flows, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare Technical Specification Documents (TSDs), including hardware/software requirements, network configurations, and technical details for solution implementation.
• Provide expert guidance, advice, and consultation to SaskPower teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead architectural discussions and ensure proposed solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to validate technical feasibility and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
• Contribute to both projects and operational support in areas including:
o Servers (Intel, IBM)
o Networking (Cisco)
o Storage and Data Center Infrastructure
o Azure Cloud and Hybrid Environments
Required Qualifications
• Education: Minimum 2 years of formal post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certification: TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification preferred.
o Proven experience (10+ years) in solution architecture with a focus on servers, storage, networks, and data center planning.
o Hands-on involvement in infrastructure projects leveraging Intel, IBM, Cisco, and enterprise storage technologies.
o Experience with Azure cloud solutions and hybrid data center integration.
o Strong knowledge of IT security, compliance, and risk management practices.
• Skills:
o Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
o Ability to work independently off-site with availability for on-call support.
o Stakeholder management and vendor coordination expertise
