About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established and growing regional law firm in British Columbia, is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support their practice. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity within a collaborative and high-performing legal team.
You will work closely with lawyers, fellow legal assistants and clients on complex matters. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys being a key partner in file progression and takes pride in delivering exceptional client service.

Your Responsibilities
• You will coordinate and book trials, discoveries, mediations and chambers applications
• You will draft, format and prepare pleadings, affidavits, builders’ lien claims and correspondence
• You will manage lawyer calendars, email flow and file organization, ensuring deadlines and limitation dates are met
• You will liaise with clients, experts, opposing counsel, court registries and court reporters
• You will conduct and interpret online searches including court registry, corporate, land title, and personal property searches
• You will support monthly billing and general administrative functions
Skills and Qualifications
• 3+ years of recent Legal Assistant experience
• Graduate of an accredited legal assistant program or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of BC Supreme Court rules, practices and procedures
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, BC Online, and myLTSA as well as paper based processes
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and adhere to strict deadlines
• A client-focused mindset, sound judgment and a high degree of discretion
