About the Opportunity
We are partnering with an organization in the transportation and logistics space to support the hiring of a Credit & Collections Manager for a key contract assignment. This role sits within the finance function and plays a direct role in supporting cash flow, client relationships, and operational stability during a busy period of transition.
Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will lead day-to-day credit and collections activity while supporting and coaching a small team. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing people leadership with detailed accounts receivable work, and who takes pride in building structure, consistency, and strong client communication into financial operations.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll set and monitor collection goals while overseeing timely recovery of outstanding accounts receivable.
- You’ll review aging reports, reconcile accounts, and ensure payments are applied accurately and consistently.
- You’ll communicate directly with clients by phone and email to resolve disputes, negotiate payment terms, and secure timely payment.
- You’ll perform credit checks and due diligence for new client onboarding, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- You’ll identify high-risk or delinquent accounts, escalating issues and coordinating with third-party collection agencies when required.
- You’ll supervise, support, and coach team members, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- You’ll contribute to process improvements by identifying gaps, trends, and opportunities within the AR function.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of hands-on credit and collections experience in a fast-paced environment.
- 2 to 3 years of experience supervising or leading staff.
- Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle and accounts receivable best practices.
- Experience within the transportation industry is considered an asset.
- Advanced Excel skills, with confidence working in large data sets and reports.
- Experience using TruckMate or similar transportation management systems.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills, with a practical and solutions-focused approach.
