About the Opportunity

Our e-commerce industry client is building a high-impact Data Science team to tackle real-world challenges across a global online marketplace. As a Data Scientist, you will apply machine learning and AI to enhance customer experience, optimize operations, and drive business revenue. You will have the chance to influence product features that reach millions of users across North America and Europe.

In this hands-on role, you will collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to own end-to-end model development. From designing predictive models to experimenting with generative AI and large language models, your work will directly impact key business outcomes while supporting the organization’s data-driven culture.

Your Responsibilities

• You will design, build, deploy, and optimize predictive and generative AI models for marketplace and fintech use cases.
• You will translate business and product goals into actionable, data-driven solutions, owning models end-to-end.
• You will analyze large, complex datasets and communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You will support scalable ML infrastructure using cloud-native tools, primarily AWS.
• You will monitor, evaluate, and improve model performance while defining key metrics.
• You will contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and model design decisions.
• You will explore and implement Generative AI / LLM solutions, including fine-tuning and vector database integration.

Skills and Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a quantitative field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI.
• Proven experience deploying ML models into production environments.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience in ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and orchestration tools (Jenkins, Airflow).
• Experience in SaaS or product-focused companies is a plus; a strong business acumen with understanding of pricing, e-commerce, marketplaces, or high-scale consumer platforms is highly valued.
• Knowledge of MLOps practices including monitoring, versioning, and deployment.
• Strong communication skills and experience working in agile product teams.
• Experience with Generative AI / LLM technologies (Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI APIs, fine-tuning) is an asset.

Nice to Have: Experience in e-commerce or large-scale consumer platforms, and familiarity with pricing, recommendations, or inventory optimization use cases. Contributions to open-source projects or technical publications are a plus.
