Position: Senior Project Management
Location: Remote (Ontario or Quebec) | Office: Ottawa, ON (Primarily Remote)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Pay Rate: Approx. $100–110/hr
Contract Length: 14 months to start
Clearance: Must Have Enhanced Reliability Clearance
Preferred Background: someone who has worked in banking, finance, or financial oversight environments.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, ITS Solutions, the Senior Project Management Specialist will:
- Oversee projects throughout all phases, ensuring resources are used efficiently and projects are completed on time and meet performance standards.
- Develop project plans and prioritize work to achieve objectives, collaborating with project resources and other teams as required.
- Deliver defined scope and work plans within quality and time constraints while managing risks, issues, and interdependencies.
- Prepare and present proposals, plans, status reports, charts, and risk logs to communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Collaborate with external suppliers, stakeholders, and team members to identify challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and business partners to understand client needs and resolve inquiries or concerns.
- Handle unplanned project activities, such as re-planning and recalibration, independently with limited senior management support.
- Provide project management expertise using proven methodologies and best practices
- Provide regular updates on progress and value delivery to senior management and project sponsors/clients.
- Ensure completion of all project deliverables, including documentation and related processes.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 10+ years of recent experience as a Senior Project Management Specialist overseeing large projects (40+ resources, multiple years) in complex environments.
- 5+ years of experience using Agile or hybrid delivery approaches (Agile/Waterfall) for strategic project delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated business acumen, including the ability to identify and communicate value and translate business needs into project objectives.
- Experience leading multiple initiatives concurrently and effectively managing interdependencies.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively to achieve objectives.
- Recent experience delivering large projects/initiatives in the financial sector (banks, financial institutions, market participants, etc.).
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification(s).
