About the Opportunity
Our client in the financial services sector is seeking a Default Recovery Specialist to join a high-performing team focused on supporting clients through complex mortgage challenges. This role plays a critical part in managing delinquent mortgage accounts, helping borrowers navigate difficult financial situations while minimizing risk and loss.

Your Responsibilities
- You’ll manage a portfolio of delinquent mortgage accounts, focusing on resolution strategies and risk mitigation
- You’ll engage in meaningful conversations with clients, guiding them through repayment options and next steps
- You’ll assess borrower financials and recommend tailored workout solutions where appropriate
- You’ll coordinate with internal teams and external legal partners to support files nearing legal action
- You’ll prioritize a high volume of incoming communications, ensuring timely and accurate follow-up across multiple systems
Skills and Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in mortgage collections, default management, or related financial services roles
- Strong understanding of mortgage delinquency, recovery processes, and borrower financial assessment
- Experience working with high-volume workloads, including managing inboxes and administrative tasks
- Exposure to mortgage enforcement, foreclosure processes, or legal coordination is an asset
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive client conversations with professionalism and empathy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing demands effectively
