About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established organization within the real estate sector, is seeking a Technical Services Manager to lead operations across a large-scale, high-profile downtown portfolio. This role plays a critical part in ensuring building performance, safety, and sustainability while supporting long-term asset value.

You’ll work closely with property management, operations teams, service partners, and tenants to deliver seamless building operations. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all base building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and life safety components, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.

  • Lead preventive maintenance programs and sustainability initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

  • Manage utility tracking and implement energy conservation strategies to support operational and environmental goals.

  • Plan and execute capital projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

  • Collaborate closely with property management to develop and manage capital plans and operating budgets.

  • Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary operations team, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial property operations, including people leadership responsibilities

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Facility Management, or a related field (BES I & II, SMT, or SMA considered strong assets)

  • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects and operational budgets

  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems and automation technologies

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Yardi

  • A collaborative leadership style with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
