Job Description
Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their team for a 6-month contract. This role will require you to be onsite in their Toronto office.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and end-to-end processing of a biweekly Payroll using Lawson software ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with legislated requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of current legislation, Collective Agreements, and database requirements pertaining to earnings and deductions
- Liaise with all internal and external partners for payroll and payroll liabilities to ensure payroll accuracy, payroll policies, and procedures
- Responsible for a wide range of payroll functions related to the employment of unionized and non-unionized hourly and salaried employees.
- Process payroll and manage the payroll Email inbox on a rotating basis
- Audit and analyze payroll reports, reconcile payroll information for T4 purposes and payroll liabilities for the general ledger
- Prepares third-party remittances and various payroll reports.
- Validates, reviews, and reconciles the hours from the timekeeping system to the final pay register.
- Process payout requests, adjustments, deductions, and garnishments as necessary
- Ensure that all payments, deductions, remittances, and dues are accurate, submitted on time, and are in accordance with Federal and Provincial legislation.

Qualifications:
- A University or College diploma/degree in finance or accounting is an asset.
- 3 - 5 years of payroll experience (in-house processing an asset)
- Strong Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Direct experience with Lawson payroll software is preferred
- Strong organizational skills, including effective time management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment meeting tight deadlines
- Sensitivity to the needs of customers with a focus on service excellence
