Job Description

We are thrilled to partner with a national non-profit group dedicated to transforming Indigenous medical education and promoting the delivery of culturally safe care.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to join their team and oversee the organization's day-to-day operations. Specifically, managing staff and resources, setting goals and budgets, evaluating performance, driving growth, and ensuring the organization's overall success.

This is a full-time term contract until March of 2028. This position and can be performed remotely.

Preference may be given to individuals who identify as First Nations, Inuit or Métis. However, this role is open to all qualified candidates.

What you'll do:

  • Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage and optimize operational processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing operations team.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, stakeholders, and Indigenous communities.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.

What you'll need:

  • Proven Leadership: 5+ years of leadership experience in a complex organization.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business operations, financial management, and strategic planning.
  • People Management: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Indigenous Cultural Understanding: Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous cultures, values, and perspectives.
