About the Opportunity

Our public sector client is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support complex, high-impact procurement initiatives within a regulated environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring fair, transparent, and compliant sourcing practices that directly support essential services across Ontario.

You will collaborate closely with procurement leadership, technical teams, and external vendors to deliver strategic sourcing solutions. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects in areas such as chemicals, engineering services, and operational support, while working in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll lead the development and execution of procurement strategies, including RFPs, contracts, and sourcing plans
  • You’ll advise stakeholders on procurement policies, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and guidelines
  • In this role, you’ll analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost structures to inform decision-making
  • You’ll manage vendor relationships, monitor performance, and resolve contract or service issues
  • You’ll support contract negotiations and contribute to establishing supplier agreements
  • You’ll review and improve procurement processes, policies, and systems to enhance efficiency and compliance

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive procurement experience, preferably in the public sector
  • Strong knowledge of procurement policies, contract law, and competitive bidding processes
  • Experience managing complex RFPs and vendor contracts
  • Familiarity with regulated industries such as water, chemicals, or engineering services is an asset
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
