As a Senior Specialist in Systems Engineering, you will join a collaborative, high-performing technology team that values innovation, reliability, and continuous improvement. You’ll gain exposure to modern platform engineering practices, enterprise-scale infrastructure, and cross-functional initiatives that have real national impact. Expect a workplace that celebrates innovation while prioritizing stability and security.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll collaborate with Architecture and DevSecOps teams to design and maintain secure, robust infrastructure platforms.
  • You’ll prepare and execute patching plans, coordinate maintenance windows, and manage approvals and communications.
  • You’ll lead OS and middleware upgrades across RHEL, Windows Server, and containerized environments including OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • You’ll oversee database upgrades and maintenance, including PostgreSQL and CockroachDB environments.
  • You’ll monitor system health, performance, and capacity, building dashboards and responding to alerts to ensure SLA and SLO adherence.
  • You’ll partner with Security teams to review vulnerability scans and drive remediation efforts.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive System Administrative/Engineering experience, including background in Platform Engineering, SRE, DevOps, or DBA roles.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with OpenShift, Kubernetes, RHEL, Windows Server, and enterprise database platforms.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Enterprise, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Solid understanding of networking, TLS, certificate management, and identity integrations such as OIDC or SAML.
  • Familiarity with observability tools, backup technologies, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and an automation-first mindset.
  • Eligibility to apply for Reliability Security Clearance (Requires 5 years of physical presence in Canada).
