About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing organization in the architecture and design space, is seeking a people-first Studio Operations Manager to be the heartbeat of their creative studio. This role sits at the intersection of operations, human resources, culture, and executive support, ensuring the studio runs smoothly while employees feel supported, engaged, and empowered to do their best work. You will work closely with senior leadership including Partners, the CFO, and the Design Manager, while supporting a collaborative team of 36+ designers. This is a highly visible, trusted role that blends professionalism with warmth and requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, design-driven environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll oversee daily studio operations, office administration, and front desk coordination to keep everything running seamlessly.
  • You’ll manage HR operations including onboarding, employee contracts, personnel files, vacation tracking, and performance review coordination.
  • You’ll act as a culture champion, fostering a positive, inclusive, and professional studio environment.
  • You’ll support recruitment efforts by coordinating with recruiters, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.
  • You’ll liaise with IT consultants, troubleshoot technology issues, and manage software, hardware, and licensing needs.
  • You’ll provide executive-level administrative support to senior leadership, including scheduling, renewals, and special requests.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in office operations, HR, or administrative management within a professional environment
  • Previous human resources experience with working knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to troubleshoot modern office technology
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Warm, polished communicator with strong emotional intelligence and discretion
