Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented AP/Payroll Clerk to join our client in the Transportation industry. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payments to carriers and drivers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all financial transactions. Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify driver paperwork and ensure accurate, timely payments to both drivers and carriers.
- Handle driver pay and carrier payables in compliance with company policies and payment schedules.
- Respond to driver pay inquiries via phone or email in a professional and timely manner.
- Accurately enter and audit invoices, ensuring alignment with established procedures.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies by coordinating with the Freight Audit team.
- Review and reconcile aging statements from carriers.
- Provide documentation and support for inquiries from both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Assist with additional tasks and projects as needed to support the accounting and operations teams.
Qualification & Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in driver pay processing or interline payables in the transportation industry.
- Experience with Truckmate is an asset and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Strong communicator with drivers, capable of handling inquiries professionally.
- Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry is an asset, particularly driver pay practices and paperwork requirements.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
