Job Description

Our client, a well-established organization specializing in group insurance benefits, is seeking an experienced Manager to join their Disability Management Services Office team. This role provides an opportunity to lead a team of high-performing managers focused on disability claims management. If you have experience in group benefits, disability claims, or a related field, along with a strong background in leading leaders, we’d love to hear from you!

This role is a full-time, permanent opportunity that requires 2 days per week on-site at the client's office in downtown Vancouver. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

As a Manager, Disability Management Services Office, you will oversee five direct reports—each leading a team of 8-10 case managers responsible for adjudicating disability claims. Your role is to coach, mentor, and develop team managers, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to guide their teams effectively. You will also play a key role in handling escalated client concerns, supporting renewals, and navigating complex claims.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of managers responsible for overseeing disability case managers.
  • Support leaders in navigating complex claims, escalations, and performance challenges.
  • Ensure service excellence by monitoring team performance and maintaining high standards in claims processing.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align department goals with corporate objectives.
  • Assist with recruitment and retention strategies to attract top talent in a competitive market.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and employer groups.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience leading leaders, preferably within group benefits, disability claims, healthcare, or insurance.
  • Expertise in group insurance and disability claims management.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to handle client escalations effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to support team managers in navigating complex cases.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coach and develop leadership talent.
  • Understanding of disability case management, functional assessments, and claims adjudication is an asset.
Benefits:
  • Hybrid work model (2 days per week in office)
  • Annual bonus
  • Stock share options
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • 3 weeks paid vacation + 3 personal days
  • $2,000 annual education fund for professional development
