Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead and coordinate initiatives for education programs. The Senior Program Manager will ensure that projects are strategically aligned, well-executed, and effectively resourced. This role involves managing project plans, overseeing interdependencies, mitigating risks, and fostering collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage IT programs that align with operational goals.
- Define program objectives, deliverables, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Partner with faculty, staff, students, and IT teams to assess needs and develop technology-driven solutions.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure program alignment and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Oversee multiple IT projects within the program, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Manage resources, schedules, and budgets to achieve program milestones.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT programs, ensuring compliance with policies, IT governance, and regulatory standards.
- Build and manage cross-functional project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to achieve program objectives.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate program progress and performance to university leadership.
- Stay informed on emerging IT trends and integrate best practices into university programs for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive experience in program/project management, ideally in an education or public sector setting.
- Strong ability to bring structure, enforce best practices, and drive execution while fostering collaboration.
- Expertise in stakeholder management, reporting (including Power BI), and risk mitigation.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams, project coordination, and resource planning.
- Proven ability to work with senior leadership and accreditation bodies to achieve key objectives.
- Effective communicator with strong problem-solving and strategic decision-making skills.
- Bilingual - professional proficiency with French and English
- Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools for reporting and insights.
- Background in financial oversight and resource planning within an academic or healthcare setting.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, or a related discipline).
- Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) or equivalent is an asset.
