Business Analysts
We are looking for 5 Business Analysts for our large-scale provincial government client in Edmonton, Alberta. There are 5 different projects taking place. These are net new roles that will run for a 12-month contract to start with potential to extend.
Location:
We are looking for Business Analysts in Alberta that are comfortable coming on-site 1 to 2 days per week
Hours:
Monday through Friday 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM
Equipment:
The client will supply laptop or desktop
Contract Duration:
12 months to start with potential to extend for another 12 months
Types of Projects:
- Organization Transformation: Assist the organization with org design and associated activities related to evolving how we work as a team, defining operational processes, prepare communications, prepare job descriptions, change management, etc.
- Service Transformation: Assist the organization with defining services that are provided to the business clients. Defining those services, outlining expectations, measurements for success and implementing. Preparing communications, change management, etc.
- Point of Sale System Planning: Work with the business and the technology delivery organization to document the current state as it relates to the Point of Sale system, create a strategy and business case for the future options as well as any procurement related materials (if required).
- Establish Planning and Governance Practice: Work with the Strategy and Governance team to establish practices, processes and tools related to governance and strategic planning. Own and manage activities in this space, defining services, preparing communications, etc.
- Security Program: Work with the Security team to document the current state as it relates to the security ecosystem. Plan and deliver work related to policy, procurement, governance, practices, procedures, training, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, facilitate and document plans and priorities, aligning to Department vision;
- Identify projects to achieve this vision;
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops and focus groups;
- Prepare and deliver presentations about initiatives or issues to executives and staff, steering committees, project groups and other stakeholders;
- Risk management and issues management;
- Develop and execute change management plans and communication plans;
- Develop business cases through a consultative approach with business sponsors and key stakeholders, identifying benefits and performance measure indicators;
- Document initiative/project backgrounds, descriptions, environmental analyses, financial modeling, alternatives, impacts, risks, cost-benefit analyses, recommendations, implementation strategies, and approval processes;
- Provide quality assurance services throughout to ensure completeness and consistency of documentation, which could include content review;
- Defining operational processes;
- Creating job descriptions;
- Service Design deliverables (definition, targets, measurement criteria, etc.).
Qualifications & Skills - Must Haves:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact
- 5 years: Experience assisting clients to execute strategies with technology, process
- 5 years: Experience at the senior management level or above in an organization of comparable
- 5 years: Experience developing and delivering communications and presentations at multiple
- 5 years: Experience developing and maintaining positive relationships across the organization
- 5 years: Experience with the development of business cases for a wide variety of initiatives
Qualifications & Skills - Nice to Have (2 to 5 years):
- Experience conducting, facilitating and interpreting impact and risk assessments
- Experience creating flowcharts/diagrams/analyses, including but not limited to
- Experience evaluating policies, programs, and initiatives using program development
- Experience in managing projects in an organization of comparable size and complexity
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis of costs and benefits.
- Experience in the design, development and implementation of a digital transformation
- Experience leading an organization through a large scale technology change impacting
- Experience using analytical and problem solving skills to plan and design creative
- Experience with change management
- Experience with financial reporting and modeling
- Experience with government planning and budgeting processes and procedures
- Experience with the development of communications plans
Mandatory Training Course:
Once hired, each Business Analyst will be required to complete all mandatory training which includes but not limited to Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Security awareness training. There may also be some optional courses as well.
