Job Description
Our Transport client in New Westminster is seeking a skilled Senior Project Manager - Cybersecurity & IT Reliance to join their team. This would be a contract opportunity and the role would be hybrid at our client’s location in New Westminster.
Roles and Responsibilities
The contract PM’s primary assignment is to lead Cybersecurity project(s), which is aimed at increasing IT cyber security across the enterprise. Normal project management deliverables and supporting documentation will be expected. These include, but are not limited to:
- Business Cases for assigned projects including the implementation phase work plan, financials (budget), work breakdown structure in MS Project, project schedule, risk analysis, work package sequencing, and high-level business case (memo).
- Project Initiation artifacts (Project Charter, Feasibility Study Definition Document, Project Configurator, Organizational Change Management documents)
- A comprehensive, integrated project management plan consistent with PMI practices, including detailed Communication and Risk Management Plans.
- Monthly Program and Project Status Reports, filed in TransLink’s portfolio reporting system.
- Technical and Steering Committee meeting documentation (i.e. presentations, review materials, minutes, support documentation, technical memorandums, etc.)
- Cash Flow Forecasts/Budget Updates
- Project RAID (Risk, Action, Issue, Decision register)
- Deliverables from the projects assigned to the contractor.
- Project Change Requests, as required.
- Project Closeout Reports
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience delivering complex IT projects is a must.
- Minimum of 5 years Information Security/Cyber Security experience is a must.
- IT infrastructure experience is strongly desirable.
- Team management experience (6+ direct reports) is strongly desirable.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science.
- 8+ years of full cycle technology project management experience, preferably with experience in SDLC (full-cycle software development) projects, from developing a conceptual idea to requirements gathering to system design, system build, system test, training, and cutover.
- Must have managed projects with budgets in excess of $2M and teams of more than 10 people including “matrixed” resources.
- Experience communicating and presenting to senior management and executives within a large organization is essential.
- Must display a sense of “urgency to get the job done”.
- Solid experience with the management of risk, change, issues, time, scope, resources, budget, and quality
- Experience managing complex contracts.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is a plus but not a mandatory requirement.
- Training and experience in best practice project management techniques and processes.
- Extensive and proven experience facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
- Proven ability to gain and use an understanding of the wider program goals in deciding the supporting project strategies/objectives.
- Proven ability to manage/coordinate activities and resources in conjunction with other inter-related projects for both internal and external programs and projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience developing and implementing technology projects and business process initiatives designed to improve efficiencies.
- Experience gathering and analyzing functional and technical requirements and information from key business areas.
