IT Program Manager

Our client in public sector is seeking a skilled IT Program Manager to join their team. This is a contract opportunity for 6 months and the role would be hybrid at our client location in Edmonton, AB. 

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will fulfill Program Management Responsibilities, also be accountable for Project Delivery and fulfill Project Management Responsibilities.

• Defining program controls, such as procedures and reporting
• Developing progress reports for the program
• Supervising a team of project managers
• Managing the budget of a program, writing funding proposals and allocating company resources
• Managing the risks and contingency plans of a program
• Organizing programs and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization
• Developing new programs to support the strategic direction of the organization
• Creating and managing long-term goals
• Planning the overall program and monitoring the progress
• Managing stakeholders’ communication

Qualifications and Skills

• 6+ years of experience developing project schedules.
• 7+ years of experience in executive stakeholder engagement.
• 6+ years of experience managing IT solutions with multiple teams.
• 8+ years of experience in multiple project management, ensuring the timely delivery of project deliverables.
• 5+ years of experience managing projects of significant size and complexity.
• 6+ years of experience in scoping and setting project goals.
• 2+ years of experience implementing asset lifecycle management solutions.
• 4+ years of experience conducting impact and risk assessments.
• 4+ years of experience managing mandated or legislated projects.
• 2+ years of experience managing a portfolio of projects.
• 5+ years of experience in program and project documentation and writing.
• 5+ years of experience establishing and maintaining project governance structures.
• 3+ years of experience managing projects in the public sector.
• 4+ years of experience making technical decisions.
• 4+ years of experience collaborating with technical teams to achieve project objectives.

Education

• Degree, Diploma, or Certification relevant to Program Management.
