Job Description
Our reputable client in the public sector is seeking a skilled Senior Scrum Master to join their team. This is a contract opportunity for 1 year and the role would be hybrid at our client location in Richmond, BC.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Scrum Master delivers projects of varying complexity and size and for ensuring support of the production applications meet the expected service levels of our customers.
- Will guide and coach product owners and development teams through story development, iterations, retrospectives, product backlog management and decision making.
- Scrum Master will use specialist knowledge of agile and scrum to help teams deliver and continuously improve their product quality, velocity of delivery and professional development.
- Scrum Master will help to remove any impediments blocking progress of product delivery.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) majors
- 6+ years direct hands-on experience in the agile practice.
- Of the 6+ years, 4+ years of relevant experience with agile methodologies and DevOps environments
- Of the 6+ years, 2+ years’ experience developing/delivery in the cloud
- Of the 6+ years, 4+ years of work experience in IT involving continuous process improvement, project management, business requirements and analysis, and/or technical proficiency.
- Holds Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification such as CSPO, CSD, CSP, or PMI-ACP, SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), CDAP, CLP.
- Considerable experience identifying and removing technical & non-technical roadblocks towards team progress.
- Considerable experience providing constructive feedback on technical and non-technical performance.
- Considerable experience planning, scheduling and facilitating agile ceremonies and team activities.
- Considerable experience guiding, coaching and educating teams on product delivery using Agile methods.
- Considerable experience working at the enterprise level, in highly complex and integrated environments.
- Experience with team budgeting and forecasting, resource costing, and reporting updates at program financial review.
- Holds Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training and certification like SAFe Practitioner, or commitment to take the course and obtain certification within 2 months from commencement of work.
