Job Description

We are looking for a Chief Information Officer to join our dynamic team!

The role will operate on a remote model with the  option to work on site if desired (Toronto or Ottawa). 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee the implementation of information flow and content management strategies, aligning with business objectives.
  • Develop and manage information systems, focusing on data integrity and efficient information dissemination.
  • Mentor and retrain IT team members to adapt to new information system roles, promoting a culture of learning and adaptability.
  • Manage IT budget effectively, collaborating closely with finance and other departments.
  • Lead data management projects, ensuring they comply with security and privacy standards.
  • Guide the transition to new systems, managing timelines, risks, and communication with all stakeholders.
  • Advocate for and implement advanced data analytics and business intelligence solutions.

 

Qualifications:

  • MBA, Bachelor’s in Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 10-15 years in senior IT roles, with a strong emphasis on information systems, data management, and organizational transformation.
  • Track record of successful information system redesign and implementation.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a strategic leader in information system overhaul and data management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on aligning IT initiatives with overall business strategy.
  • Ability to effectively delegate, build trust, and foster a culture of accountability within IT teams.
  • Proficient in managing external contractors to control costs and ensure quality.
  • Experience in leading teams through significant changes in technology and operations.
  • Knowledge of data management tools, business intelligence software (e.g., Power BI), and relevant technology platforms.

Must Have:

  • Proven track record in data management and information flow design.
  • Experience with system migration and implementation.
  • Strong capability in managing costs and relationships with external contractors and vendors.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in developing and implementing AI models.
  • Skills in workflow automation and process optimization.
  • Knowledge in business continuity planning and risk management.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
