Windows 11 Migration Specialist

We are assisting our non-for-profit/healthcare client with the search for an IT Technician - Windows 11 Migration Specialist who will join their team on a temporary 2-month contract that may be extended.

Role: Windows 11 Migration Specialist
Pay rate: $25-31/HR 
Location: Ottawa, ON - Lansdowne area (free parking available)
Duration: 2 months contract with a possible extension

Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure Windows 11, ensuring hardware compatibility and preserving user data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to drivers, application compatibility, and post-migration problems.
• Provide direct user support and clear communication throughout the upgrade process.
• Track migration progress and document procedures, generating reports and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications:

• Experience installing and configuring Windows 11
• Understanding of hardware requirements and compatibility checks (TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, etc.)
• Familiarity with Windows 11 features, UI changes, and user impact
• Ability to execute commands as per procedure.
• Ability to speak to clients 1-1.
• Strong grasp of Windows 10 environment for assessing upgrade paths and potential conflicts
• Deployment, troubleshooting, and user support.
• Ability to resolve driver issues, app compatibility, and post-migration problems
• Experience enabling and managing BitLocker, Secure Boot, and TPM modules
• Can generate reports to track migration progress and remaining eligible devices
• Self-Directed: Can work independently
• Clear Communicator: Able to work with IT teams and clients
