Financial Risk & Operations Specialist

We are assisting our financial services client in the search for a Financial Risk & Operations Specialist to join their Market Risk Group for a 3-month contract. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily liquidity horizon (LH) tasks and weekly risk-weighted inventory (RWI) to support liquidity management.
• Assist in consolidating liquidity positions and developing a consolidated liquidity model.
• Support the ALCO by preparing and presenting reports.
• Navigate cash flows, regulatory requirements, and stress testing processes.
• Provide operational support to ensure financial data accuracy and integrity.
• Streamline existing processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Participate in the review and evaluation of cash flows, duration gaps, and stress testing results based on risk policies.
• Assist in preparing regular risk reports for the Asset and Liability Management Committee (ALCO) and other stakeholders.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in financial services, preferably in a Treasury, Risk, or Market Liquidity team.
• Strong understanding of liquidity risk management and business operations within financial services.
• Experience in regulatory compliance and stress testing.
• Strong understanding of capital markets and trade lifecycle
• Strong modelling and technical skills within Excel/VBA.
• Experience with Power BI considered an asset.
• CFA considered an asset.
