Job Description
Our client, a non-profit organization, is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support their team on a 2-month contract, with the potential for extension. This is a fully remote opportunity, ideal for a detail-oriented professional seeking a short-term role in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process, track, and reconcile accounts payable transactions to ensure accurate financial records.
- Verify and code invoices for goods and services, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Enter invoice batches, generate EFT payment batches, and process vendor payments.
- Prepare and distribute cheque payments, including manual cheques as needed.
- Maintain electronic financial records, ensuring proper organization and compliance with record-keeping policies.
- Provide administrative support, including bank deposits and managing debtor records.
- Collaborate with internal teams on payment processing and travel expense claims.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the finance team during peak workload periods.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
- Experience with Sage 300 (or similar accounting software).
- Strong Excel skills, including data uploads and reconciliations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Prior experience in a non-profit organization is an asset but not required.
- Bilingual (French/English) is preferred but not mandatory.
