Financial Analyst - Accounting & Reporting

As part of their continuous growth, they are seeking a Financial Analyst – Accounting & Reporting to join their Eastern Canada Finance team.
About the Role
The Financial Analyst – Accounting & Reporting will play a critical role in financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, audit coordination, and compliance with internal controls. This individual will work closely with finance leadership, auditors, and shared services teams to support month-end activities, variance analysis, and financial statement classifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support financial reporting processes, including month-end close, variance analysis, reconciliations, and quarterly disclosures.
- Work closely with FP&A, finance directors, auditors, and shared services teams across North America to drive financial reporting accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in developing and refining internal control processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Oversee the classification of key accounts, coordinate new account setups, and ensure proper compliance with financial reporting standards.
- Conduct research on complex financial transactions, prepare technical accounting memos, and provide guidance on proper accounting treatments.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial reporting tools.
- Act as the key liaison for internal and external audit inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards (including US GAAP and SOX).
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- CPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA) preferred.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, auditing, or financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial compliance requirements.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or related industries is a plus.
- Proficiency in financial systems such as SAP, SAC, or Tagetik is an asset.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for data analysis and executive reporting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
