Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Change Manager in Halifax, NS! We are looking for a Change Manager that will focus on people and the organizational side of change, including changes to business processes, systems, technology, job roles, and organizational structures. The Change Manager will work with project teams and business stakeholders to manage change, integrate into project delivery, and actively plan, schedule and deliver change according to the project scope, schedule and approved project deliverables.

Preference will be given to certified individuals (Prosci CMP, CCMP) with minimum eight (8) years of Change Management experience in implementing service delivery initiatives to the public and delivering projects for utilities or other government/public sector organizations.

The duration is 24 months (2 years) to start with potential to extend for another year. The approximate start date is May 2025. This role is 5-days onsite in Halifax, NS. 

To be considered for this role, you must be certified with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in implementing service delivery initiatives to the public and delivering projects for utilities or other public sector organizations. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance
  • Working with project teams to integrate change management activities into the overall project plan
  • Identifying potential risks and anticipated points of resistance, and developing specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns
  • Conducting impact analyses, assessing change readiness and identifying key stakeholders
  • Providing input, documenting requirements and supporting the design and delivery of training programs
  • Managing stakeholders and ensuring clear and timely communication about the change
  • Creating and managing measurement systems to track adoption, utilization and proficiency of individual changes
  • Identifying resistance and performance gaps, and work to develop and implement corrective actions
  • Working with project managers to ensure smooth execution of changes and transition
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience and knowledge in change management principles, methodologies, and tools to develop and implement effective change strategies
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and can clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences and facilitate understanding and cooperation among team members
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and with high quality
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders, manage resistance to change, and foster a positive change culture
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle

Education

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Psychology or a field related to change management
  • A Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) credential from the Association for Change Management Professionals (ACMP) or a similar industry-recognized certification
  • CSM, and Prosci CMP® is considered an asset
  • Other equivalent combinations of formal education and related experience may also be considered
