Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist
Our client, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist to join their team. This role focuses on managing outstanding accounts within the long-term care (LTC) sector, working closely with both residents and internal teams to ensure timely payments and account resolution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable and collections, with the ability to navigate complex billing and payment challenges in a compassionate and professional manner.
Location: North-York, fully on-site
Pay rate: $28.00-$32.00/h
Contract duration: 2 months with possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and prioritize collections efforts for outstanding accounts.
Analyze accounts receivable aging reports and implement strategic collections plans.
Communicate with residents and families to resolve payment discrepancies, understanding potential language barriers and the need for on-site visits.
Work closely with the care team to align on financial discussions while maintaining a resident-first approach.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date collections records.
Provide clear and empathetic explanations regarding billing, outstanding balances, and payment options.
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline LTC collections processes and ensure compliance with regulations.
Prepare and distribute reports on collections performance and progress toward financial goals.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable & Collections.
Experience in long-term care, nursing homes, or retirement homes is REQUIRED.
Strong knowledge of LTC billing processes and the regulatory framework.
Ability to interact professionally and empathetically with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
