Job Description
Our client in the Pharmaceutical industry is hiring for a Social Media and Content Strategist to join their team on a full time, permanent basis! This is a very exciting opportunity working in a hybrid model, 1 day onsite per week downtown Ottawa, 4 days remotely.
The Social Media and Content Strategist develops and manages the organization’s social media strategy to align with its goals. They create engaging content, run ad campaigns, monitor performance, and ensure coverage of key events and news.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute the organization's social media strategy.
- Set performance goals (KPIs) and report progress to leadership.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure key events, products, and issues are highlighted.
- Create and manage social media ads to maximize impact and minimize costs.
- Produce diverse content (text, audio, video, graphics) aligned with the organization's voice.
- Support social media strategy and execution for leadership and related initiatives.
- Stay updated on social media trends and technologies, identifying opportunities and risks.
- Monitor industry news and amplify relevant stories.
- Maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent posting and delivery.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Senior Director, Communications.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, social media marketing, journalism, public administration, business, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in social media management, communications, or similar roles in sectors like government, healthcare, or tech.
- Proven ability to develop and execute social media strategies in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with tools like Hootsuite, Google Analytics, and ad managers (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
Skills:
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and professional.
- Strong organization and multitasking abilities.
- Creative problem-solver with analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- French and graphic design skills are assets.
