Payroll Associate – Healthcare Industry | GTA | Permanent Role
- during pay week 1 day a week from home
- non pay week, 2 days working from home
- first 3 months probation working in office
Are you a driven graduate eager to propel your career in payroll? Our client, a respected leader in the healthcare sector, is looking for a Payroll Associate to join their team in East York. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll within a unionized setting. Accuracy and compliance are essential.
- Maintain and audit employee data, including onboarding, transfers, terminations, and updates to ensure everything is correct.
- Investigate payroll discrepancies, process adjustments, and ensure payments are accurate.
- Oversee the Time & Attendance system and manage day-to-day timekeeping activities.
- Create payroll-related reports for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Assist with T4s, T2200 forms, and other year-end processes.
- Address payroll and benefits inquiries, ensuring employees receive timely and professional assistance.
- Work closely with department managers, clerks, and timekeepers to resolve status changes and payroll adjustments.
- Support the transition to a new system and assist in streamlining payroll processes.
What You’ll Bring:
- A Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification would be ideal.
- 1 year of payroll experience, ideally in a high-volume, unionized environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIF).
- Strong communication skills and customer service experience.
- Experience with HRIS systems, Workday, or in-house payroll systems is a plus.
- Experience in the healthcare sector is beneficial but not essential.
