Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Insurance Account Manager to join the team of our client, a well-established organization in the insurance industry. This dynamic, client-facing role requires a highly organized, proactive, and team-oriented individual who is passionate about providing excellent service. The Commercial Account Manager will work closely with the Account Executive to build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring high-quality service and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, insurance company representatives, and internal team members.
- Identify coverage gaps and exposures, recommend appropriate solutions, and provide expert advice to clients.
- Respond to client inquiries, explain policy changes, and ensure clients understand their coverage.
- Assist clients with completing applications and submitting necessary documentation.
- Review and send client endorsements, invoices, and insurance certificates.
- Educate clients on their policies to ensure they are fully informed and confident in their coverage.
- Act as the primary contact for underwriting to qualify, maintain, and promote quality business.
- Communicate with underwriters on behalf of clients, negotiating policy terms when necessary.
- Assist with quoting new business and handling policy renewals.
- Review renewal documents and existing coverage for accuracy, recommending adjustments when needed.
- Collaborate with the Account Executive to assess whether a different insurance company may be a better fit for the client’s needs.
- Re-market accounts when necessary to secure the best possible terms.
- Gather and provide any additional information requested by underwriters.
- Submit claims notices, track claims progress, and follow up with clients and adjusters as needed.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, insurer changes, and policy updates.
- Provide administrative support to the Commercial Account Executive as needed.
- Follow up with clients on payments and outstanding balances.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate client files.
- Support the broader team by assisting with workload management and providing assistance to other Account Managers when needed.
Qualifications:
- Active RIBO license is required.
- Previous experience as a Commercial Account Manager or in a similar insurance-related role.
- Familiarity with insurance software platforms (e.g., Epic, Policy Works) is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing to a positive team dynamic.
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Client-focused approach with a commitment to providing outstanding service.
