Job Description

The Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and organizing the financial records of our client and its subsidiaries. This position is integral to ensuring the company’s financial health is accurately monitored and reported. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

This is a full-time opportunity requiring on-site work at our client's office 5 days/week in Downtown Vancouver.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile all bank and credit card statements for the client company and its subsidiaries.
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure financial documents comply with legal requirements by adhering to the highest standards and practices.
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports to support decision-making.
  • Maintain the general ledger by recording daily financial transactions.
  • Assist in preparing monthly reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
  • Ensure timely payments to all suppliers by obtaining proper authorization approval.
  • Review and record all management expense reports and credit card statements.
  • Utilize technical skills to create charts and graphs for enhanced visual understanding.
  • Review and recommend improvements to processes, procedures, and accounting systems.
  • Perform other accounting duties and support junior staff as required or assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA BC membership or in the final stages of obtaining CPA designation.
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Google Drive, spreadsheets, and documents, with experience in both electronic and physical filing.
  • Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to completing tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a team environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or NetSuite is highly desirable.
