Job Description

Altis Recruitment is grateful to partner with an organization within the Broader Public Sector to support the recruitment of a Freedom of Information and Privacy Coordinator. This role is a 3 month contract duration, working in a hybrid structure in the Durham Region. This is a part-time opportunity with 25 hours a week required that could allow for additional hours throughout the duration of the contract. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations and adjudicate appeals and complaints arising under the specified provincial access and privacy laws.
  • Interpret and apply complex legislative frameworks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather evidence, analyze information, and provide fair and informed decisions regarding access and privacy matters.
  • Draft comprehensive reports and rulings summarizing investigative findings and resolutions.
  • Stay updated with evolving legislative changes and precedents within the privacy and access rights domain to ensure accuracy and compliance in decision-making processes.

Qualifications: 
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying Ontario's access and privacy legislation.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to navigate complex legal frameworks effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills, demonstrated through clear and concise reporting and decision-making.
  • Proven ability to manage and conduct investigations, including evidence gathering and analysis.
  • Experience in delivering fair and impartial adjudications while adhering to legal and procedural requirements.
