Job Description
Altis Recruitment is grateful to partner with an organization within the Broader Public Sector to support the recruitment of two permanent Managers specializing in Work Design and Compensation. Both roles will lead a team of specialists and advisors who support Human Resources, Labour Relations, Operational Leadership, and Corporate functions. One opportunity will support unionized employees while the other will support non-unionized staff. This is a remote first opportunity that will require occasional on-site presence at their various locations across BC.
Responsibilities:

Lead, oversee, and assess the structure and compensation framework, including:
- Providing job design and classification services with managerial guidance, ensuring fair and efficient evaluation and compensation of all positions.
- Managing disputes related to classification.
- Implementing changes resulting from negotiations or arbitration decisions.
- Collaborate with the Director to establish consistent policies and practices, fostering a positive work environment for labor-management relations.
- Provide leadership and guidance in Work Design & Compensation to align with the business strategies of different management groups and care teams.
- Supervise Work Design & Compensation personnel, including performance evaluations, coaching, and addressing disciplinary matters. Support staff development and ensure workplace safety.
- Contribute to the development of goals, policies, and service priorities
- Work with client groups to define outcomes and an evaluation plan for assessing the effectiveness of People strategies. Implement and monitor approved strategies.
- Identify and communicate Work Design & Compensation requirements to the Director, including budget proposals, expenditure monitoring, variance analysis, and implementation of corrective measures.
- Represent the organization in various committees or task groups as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent education, training, and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in work design/compensation within a multi-union environment.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective relationships in a complex, multi-unionized setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in negotiating conflict resolutions.
- Several years of leadership and personnel management experience.
- Capability to motivate, delegate, and perform effectively in diverse scenarios.
- Extensive familiarity with collective agreements, classification/compensation plans, relevant legislation, and superior ability to interpret and explain their contents.
