Job Description

Our client in the healthcare sector with an operating budget exceeding $1B is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their team in Ottawa on a permanent, full-time basis.  Reporting into the Director, Financial Analysis & Planning, this exciting opportunity offers a hybrid work model (1 day a week in office), a defined pension plan, full benefits and 4 weeks vacation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support multiple functional programs to achieve financial and operational goals by conducting analysis and reporting
  • Monthly variance analysis review:
    • Compare expected vs actual revenues
    • Analyze financial statements and communicate findings to managers and directors
    • Collaborate with service lines to align with strategic goals and objectives in operations and finances
    • Develop business cases, review funding models, and provide solutions for projects
  • Budgeting:
    • Develop budgets for various departments
  • Management reports:
    • Prepare ad hoc reports on different topics, including financial standings for departments
    • Analysts collaborate with 3-4 business partners per department
  • Finance business partner role:
    • Work closely with financial analysts
    • Direct communication with Directors across the organization regarding budgets, financials, and business cases
    • Serve as the main contact for executive VP, directors, etc., for all finance matters
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Eligibility to work in Canada is a prerequisite
  • Completion of Undergraduate Diploma in Business and/or Accounting
  • Possession of Professional Accounting designation (CPA/CA/CMA/CGA) is mandatory
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis within a large, complex environment
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets and reporting tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities
  • Exhibit sound judgment and initiative
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Hyperion Planning & Essbase and Oracle Financial systems
  • Knowledge of CIHI-MIS guidelines
