Job Description

Our Energy client located in Calgary, AB is seeking a Payroll Analyst to join their growing team for an exciting 6-month contract opportunity, with potential for extension/permanency. The work-model for this role is initially in-office (Calgary), transitioning to remote work after 3 months. Occasional travel will be required to project sites.

We are currently seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our client's team on a temporary basis to support payroll-related functions for projects across Canada. The Payroll Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, compliance with government regulations, and adherence to prevailing wage standards. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in payroll systems and reporting tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze payroll data, including hours worked, rates of pay, and employee benefits, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage standards and government regulations.
  • Pull reports from Ceridian Powerpay and BambooHR systems to verify accuracy of payroll transactions and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with HR, project management, and construction teams to gather necessary information for payroll reporting.
  • Work closely with the compliance team to ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll data submitted to government agencies and clients.
  • Assist in preparing reports for Incentive Tax Rebate programs, including documenting worker titles, prevailing wage rates, and hours worked.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify and address any issues or discrepancies.
  • Provide support for payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll administration or related field.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems, including Ceridian Powerpay, and HRIS platforms such as BambooHR.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
  • Familiarity with prevailing wage standards and government incentive programs preferred.
