Privacy, Information and Records Analyst
Altis Recruitment is grateful to partner with our client within the Broader Public Sector to support the recruitment for a Privacy, Information and Records Analyst in a contract capacity. This role is operating in a hybrid capacity with a requirement to work on-site one day a week out of their Whitby location with hours of operation between 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday, working 35 hours a week. The successful candidate for this role will provide access to corporate records related to information requests under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA). The role will assist with the coordination of appeals and facilitate the development, delivery, and execution of privacy training and awareness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide access to corporate records related to information requests under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA).
- Assist with administration of acccess requests related to Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA)
- Ensure compliance with legislative timelines for responding to access to information requests.
- Research privacy legislation and apply industry best practices.
- Assist in coordinating appeals
- Contribute to the review of existing policies and procedures and assist in the development and implementation of new ones.
- Support the development, delivery, and implementation of privacy training and awareness programs.
- Assist in conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and handle privacy and information security incidents and complaints.
- Education within Records and Information Management or Library Information Technician or equivalent education and practical experience
- 1+ years of experience working within Records Information Management within projects related to FIPPA
- Certification as an Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/C) is an asset.
- Experience working with legislation, drafting policies and procedures and developing training materials related to FOI and/or privacy of personal information.
- Excellent research, project management, organization, and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective working relationships.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Conflict management skills are an asset.
