Financial Analyst
We are seeking a talented and motivated Financial Analyst to join a dynamic team for one of our dedicated clients in non for profit sector. It is starting with 5months contract with a potential of extension. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause in a dynamic work environment.
It is based in Ottawa, ON, with a hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will be expected to work 1-2 days per week in the Ottawa office, with the option to work remotely for the remaining days.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial data, prepare reports, and provide insights to assist in strategic decision-making.
- Monitor and manage budgets, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and funding applications.
- Collaborate with various departments to provide financial guidance and support.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure financial data accuracy and maintain financial records.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in financial analysis, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Nice-to-Haves
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and financial software Sage.
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices is a plus.
