General Manager
Our client, a leader in the Commercial Property Management & Real Estate industry is seeking an experienced General Manager. We are seeking an individual with Triple A, Commercial Office Tower experience. Someone who has both a strong operations understanding, experience with financial performance and strategy and can be a positive representation of the organization when facing clients and tenants.
The General Manager will provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to the property team to achieve operational effectiveness, excellent customer service, and financial/budgetary performance, and will play an integral role in maintaining a best-in-class asset.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the operations of a downtown Toronto Class A mixed-use office and retail complex.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to on-site staff, fostering excellence in their roles and alignment with business objectives.
- Develop strategic plans for annual revenue, expense, and capital budgets, aligning with asset objectives and operational necessities.
- Facilitate direct communication with Investment Management and Senior Management, ensuring transparent reporting on financial performance, property operations, staffing, and tenant relationships.
- Maintain high-quality property maintenance and repair services, upholding top-tier standards.
- Cultivate tenant relations initiatives, including personalized interactions, tenant retention strategies, and exceptional customer service.
- Implement sustainability measures to align with industry best practices, government regulations, and occupational health and safety standards.
- Manage timely completion of capital and leasing projects in adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with Leasing Representatives to achieve leasing targets.
- Stay updated on industry developments and standards through active participation in industry events and committees.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7+ years of Class A office tower property management experience, encompassing leasing, maintenance, project management, financial reporting, and staff supervision.
- University degree and/or RPA or CPM designation.
- Knowledge of BOMA BESt, LEED EB:OM, or other sustainable programs is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Rental Property Management license, and advanced courses in property management.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships with stakeholders and inspire teams to achieve performance goals.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, thriving in fast-paced environments and adapting to changing demands.
- Proficient decision-making skills, utilizing a strategic approach to problem-solving and a proven track record of innovative adaptability.
- Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with a working knowledge of the Yardi accounting system is beneficial.
