Job Description
Our client is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager in Stoney Creek, ON. This position oversees the effective functioning of the Quality team, ensuring adherence to quality and industry standards through audits, procedure development, and corrective actions. You will play a vital role in championing continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining quality system standards, and promoting a culture of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Operations key members to devise and execute the Quality Assurance Plan.
- Provide leadership to the Quality Assurance team, managing daily tasks and addressing arising issues.
- Interpret contract specifications, identifying risks, and devising mitigation plans in alignment with project scope and the Quality Assurance Plan.
- Conduct and document comprehensive internal audits and inspections of structural, mechanical, and electrical components, ensuring compliance with quality standards and addressing non-conformance reports.
- Analyze and report audit data to the COO, identifying opportunities for enhancing quality management execution continually.
- Ensure vendor compliance with project specifications through effective collaboration with the procurement team.
- Develop resources and conduct training programs for staff on quality assurance processes and procedures.
- Monitor customer feedback and manage both client and internal corrective action investigations.
- Maintain a positive and supportive approach when managing unforeseen challenges.
- Uphold a safe work environment in line with EHS policies, the OHSA, and Regulations.
- Undertake other responsibilities as assigned to meet operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, with a focus on civil or mechanical engineering.
- 8+ years of quality control experience, preferably in manufacturing or construction related to commercial or healthcare buildings.
- Over 3 years in a leadership role, overseeing a team.
- Extensive knowledge of the construction industry, including specifications, drawings, methods, and procedures.
- Proficiency in various engineering systems, principles, and practices.
- Thorough understanding and interpretation of building codes, particularly in mechanical, electrical, and related federal and provincial regulations.
- Ability to influence project planning and sequencing, monitor project progress, and identify associated quality risks.
- Competence in interpreting plans and specifications, developing quality assurance plans, and leading internal quality assessments.
- Readiness to travel to customer and supplier locations as needed.
- Strong technical acumen, including proficiency in MS Office applications (SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word), as well as VDC software.
