Human Resources Manager
Our client within the creative software development industry is seeking an HR Manager to join their team in Woodbridge, ON. This is a dynamic and fast-paced organization with a strong emphasis on creativity and innovation. We are currently seeking an experienced HR professional to join the team and help build the HR department from the ground up. The office environment is diverse, with a mix of full-time employees and external contractors, and employees come from various cultural backgrounds, making diversity and inclusion a top priority.
We are seeking someone who has previous experience in a standalone HR role reporting to the CEO, as well as previous experience creating HR from the ground up for an organization. As the HR Manager, you will play a crucial role in establishing and managing the HR processes and procedures. Responsibilities:
- Build and develop the HR department from scratch
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Assistant, who currently handles HR responsibilities, to assess the current HR workload
- Oversee HR activities for approximately 80 in-office employees and coordinate with external contractors
- Handle employee relations and performance management
- Handle all benefits administration and payroll
- Lead the recruitment process, including posting job listings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and making recommendations to management
- Support diversity and inclusion initiatives in a multicultural workplace
- Minimum 3-5 years of Human Resources generalist experience, preferably in a fast-paced and creative industry
- Previous experience in a standalone HR role, creating HR from the ground up
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices and regulations
- Experience in a startup or similar environment preferred
- Possess a patient and kind demeanor when working with staff, some of whom may have English as a second language
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Patient and empathetic approach to employee interactions
- Adept at handling sensitive HR matters with confidentiality
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities
