This opportunity is ideal for an experienced English-to-French translator who enjoys combining hands-on translation with coordination, quality assurance, and collaboration.
Working closely with communications colleagues, internal partners, and external translation providers, you’ll help deliver accurate and engaging French content across digital platforms, corporate communications, reports, resources, and emerging programs. You’ll also play an important role in strengthening translation processes and supporting consistent terminology across a complex, health-focused environment.
What’s In It for You
You’ll join a collaborative communications team where your linguistic expertise and perspective are valued. You’ll gain exposure to high-impact corporate and health-related initiatives, contribute to evolving bilingual resources, and help shape translation practices, including the responsible use of AI and machine translation tools.
Your Responsibilities
• You’ll translate a wide range of English content into French, including web content, newsletters, annual reports, corporate reports, e-books, interface text, templates, and program resources.
• You’ll coordinate translation requests, assess priorities and deadlines, maintain production schedules, and proactively identify risks or bottlenecks.
• You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external translation providers to ensure projects are delivered accurately and on time.
• You’ll review, revise, and proofread French content to ensure linguistic accuracy, consistency, appropriate terminology, and adherence to editorial standards.
• You’ll maintain translation memories, glossaries, terminology resources, and style sheets.
• You’ll advise teams on translation timelines, feasibility, and resourcing while contributing to continuous process improvements.
Skills and Qualifications
• 3–5 years of English-to-French translation experience, ideally within corporate communications, regulatory, health, or public-sector environments.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably specializing in translation or a related field.
• Excellent command of French and strong knowledge of English grammar, style, and linguistic conventions.
• Experience with CAT tools and translation memories such as Trados, memoQ, or similar platforms.
• Experience with terminology research tools such as TERMIUM Plus and the Grand dictionnaire terminologique.
• Experience using project management, content management, and tracking platforms such as Teamwork, WordPress, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
• Medical or technical translation experience, a graduate credential in translation or related disciplines, and professional translator certification through a CTTIC member organization are considered assets.
