Program Officer

Location: Ottawa, ON Hybrid, 2 days on-site and 3 days remote (city to be confirmed)
Language: Excellent written and spoken English required. French proficiency is a significant asset.
Duration: 4–6 week contract, with potential for extension through January 2027
Compensation: $36+/hour, full-time hours

Are you a detail-oriented Program Officer who thrives on keeping projects organized, stakeholders engaged, and deliverables on track? We're seeking an experienced professional to support national programs and initiatives within a collaborative, mission-driven organization in the non-profit and post-secondary education sector.

In this role, you'll work closely with internal teams, educational institutions, funding partners, and external stakeholders to support meaningful programs across Canada. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your project coordination, financial administration, and relationship-building skills while making an immediate impact.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll coordinate daily project activities, timelines, deliverables, and milestones while identifying risks and keeping initiatives on track.
• You'll support funding opportunities, proposal evaluations, procurement processes, and the administration of contracts and contribution agreements.
• You'll review invoices, expense claims, and financial documentation while monitoring budgets, expenditures, and variances.
• You'll collect and validate performance data, maintain accurate records, and contribute to quarterly, annual, and final reports.
• You'll build relationships with educational institutions, funders, consultants, and partners, providing guidance and coordinating stakeholder activities.
• You'll organize meetings, workshops, webinars, and information sessions while preparing presentations, briefing materials, and communications resources.
• You'll collaborate with Finance, Communications, and program teams to ensure compliance, effective delivery, and continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience coordinating complex projects, programs, grants, or stakeholder-driven initiatives.
• Post-secondary education in project management, administration, education, social sciences, or a related discipline.
• Experience with budgets, financial claims, forecasting, performance reporting, and documentation.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Excellent organization, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience with proposals, procurement, contracts, funding agreements, or government-funded programs is an asset.
• Knowledge of Canada's post-secondary sector or workforce development initiatives is an asset. English and French bilingualism is highly valued.
