About the Opportunity
This short-term consulting opportunity is with a large Canadian post-secondary institution seeking an experienced professional to lead a focused assessment of services connected to an employee identification card. You’ll help the organization understand service dependencies, access controls, risks, business impacts, and the decisions required when modifying access.
Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, you’ll turn detailed operational findings into clear, practical recommendations for senior leadership. This is an ideal engagement for someone who can quickly build relationships, ask the right questions, and bring structure to a complex discovery exercise.
What’s In It for You
You’ll take ownership of a high-visibility assessment with a defined scope and tangible executive-level deliverables. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across operational, technical, security, privacy, and business functions while applying your expertise to an initiative with organization-wide impact.
Your Responsibilities
• You’ll participate in knowledge-transfer sessions and review existing documentation and service inventories.
• You’ll identify and validate card-enabled services, dependencies, and associated business and technical owners.
• You’ll conduct stakeholder interviews to understand how access is administered, controlled, suspended, disabled, or otherwise modified.
• You’ll assess operational, technical, security, privacy, legal, and business impacts associated with potential access changes.
• You’ll document business owner recommendations, concerns, constraints, and key risks.
• You’ll develop a clear executive decision matrix highlighting access options, impacts, recommendations, and decisions requiring leadership direction.
• You’ll deliver a concise final briefing summarizing findings and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience leading business impact assessments, discovery initiatives, or similar consulting engagements.
• Strong stakeholder consultation, interviewing, and facilitation skills.
• Proven experience documenting operational processes, service dependencies, risks, and business impacts.
• Ability to quickly synthesize complex business and technical information.
• Strong judgment and ability to develop concise, executive-level recommendations and decision materials.
