Biology Subject Matter Expert – AI Training

Location: Remote
Contract: Initial 4-week contract, with potential for ongoing opportunities
Hours: Minimum 10 hours per week
Schedule: Flexible

The Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Biology professionals for a fully remote project where you will apply your scientific expertise, analytical skills, and professional judgment to specialized work supporting the training and improvement of AI systems.

This opportunity is ideal for biologists with strong academic, laboratory, research, or industry backgrounds who are interested in applying their expertise to emerging technology while maintaining a flexible schedule.

The initial contract is 4 weeks, with the potential for ongoing project opportunities. Candidates must be able to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week, with work completed flexibly throughout the week based on individual availability and project requirements.

What You'll Do

Depending on your background and area of specialization, you may:

  • Apply biological expertise and scientific reasoning to help train and improve AI systems

  • Review and evaluate biology-related problems, explanations, and technical information

  • Analyze biological concepts, experimental scenarios, research findings, and scientific materials

  • Assess information for scientific accuracy, logic, relevance, and completeness

  • Identify errors, inconsistencies, or flawed scientific reasoning

  • Interpret experimental data, methodologies, and biological processes

  • Develop clear, well-reasoned explanations of biological concepts

  • Apply independent scientific judgment to complex or ambiguous problems

  • Follow detailed project guidelines and quality standards

  • Complete work independently while managing your own schedule

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in professionals with backgrounds such as:

  • Biologists

  • Experimental Biologists

  • Computational Biologists

  • Professionals from closely related biological science disciplines

Candidates should bring:

  • A graduate-level background in biology or a closely related field, or equivalent research or laboratory experience

  • Strong knowledge of biological principles and scientific methods

  • Professional, academic, laboratory, or research experience involving biological sciences

  • Strong scientific reasoning and problem-solving abilities

  • The ability to interpret research findings, experimental information, and complex biological concepts

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and an understanding of how human expertise and feedback can be used to train and improve AI systems

  • Comfort learning and navigating new technologies and digital platforms

  • Comfort working in a remote, self-directed environment

  • The ability to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week

For computational biology backgrounds, experience working with biological data, quantitative methods, or computational approaches is considered an asset.
