Location: Remote (Within British Columbia)
Hours: Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week with some overlap required during standard business hours (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM PT)
Duration: Contract opportunity from October 2026 through December 2026
Compensation: $40-$50/hour, depending on experience
Language: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills required
About the Opportunity
Working closely with the project lead, you'll play a key role in ensuring the final publication effectively communicates its message to both internal and external audiences and is ready for policy discussion by the project's completion date in December.

Your Responsibilities
• You'll edit and refine draft content for grammar, clarity, consistency, structure, tone, and flow.
• You'll consolidate multiple chapters and stakeholder contributions into a cohesive, reader-friendly document.
• You'll organize and format content to create a professional, polished final publication.
• You'll enhance the document's visual presentation through effective layout, formatting, and creative design elements.
• You'll ensure the document meets the needs of policy-focused audiences while remaining accessible and engaging.
• You'll collaborate with the project lead and reviewers to incorporate feedback and revisions throughout the drafting process.
• You'll help ensure key milestones are achieved, including delivery of a first draft in October and final completion by December.
Skills and Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in technical writing, editing, policy writing, communications, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience editing and finalizing complex documents involving multiple contributors.
• Exceptional writing, proofreading, and copy-editing skills with strong attention to detail.
• Experience writing and editing content intended for policy, government, public sector, environmental, or stakeholder audiences.
• Strong understanding of document structure, formatting, and publication best practices.
• Experience creating visually appealing reports, discussion papers, briefing materials, or similar publications.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality work within tight timelines.
• Experience balancing content for both internal and external audiences is considered an asset.
